Elizabeth I

(Greenwich, Current UK, 1533 - Richmond, id., 1603) Queen of Great Britain and Ireland (1558-1603). Daughter of Henry VIII and Anne Boleyn, Elizabeth I lived as a child political intrigue and religious factions of pretenders to the throne. Following the execution of his mother in 1536, Parliament declared illegitimate, but he restored their rights to the crown eight years later, during the reign of his brother Edward VI. On the death of Edward ascended the throne Mary Tudor, daughter of Henry VIII and Catherine of Aragon, and Isabella was imprisoned as part of the campaign unleashed against the Protestants.
